This is something very new that Amazon has just announced. It's not even ready to take orders yet, and you actually have to request an invitation to buy it when they are ready!
It's a wireless, Internet connected device with a good quality speaker and a bunch of microphones for voice command. It will be able to do the obvious things like stream music, but apparently can also serve as a home message center and a place to build shopping lists that will transfer to your smart phone. They say "and more", of course.
I'm intrigued. We're not big music fans here, but the other features are interesting. I'm not sure they are interesting enough for the price ($199 or $99 if you are a Prime member), but interesting enough that I did request an invitation. I guess I could return it if it's not as interesting as I think!
