A few years ago my daughter bought Magna Tiles for her daycare. Now this isn’t a minor investment they are on the expensive side, but they are also used almost every single day too.
She bought the 100 piece set which is priced at $120.00 US dollars. They do have smaller sets but I think she is glad that she bought the bigger set because the children can sit at the table and play together and still everyone has enough pieces to build with.
I have been amazed at some of the creations of the children building with these magnetic tiles. Castles and rocket ships and all sorts of other things too. They really encourage the children to use their imagination.
The set she bought came with:
• 50 Small Squares
• 4 Large Squares
• 20 Equilateral Triangles
• 11 Right Triangles
• 15 Isosceles Triangles
These tiles encourage color and shape recognition, sorting and stacking, building skills, fine motor skills and magnetic principles.
The tiles can be put together from every side, because there are magnets attached on all corners and always attract the other magnets on other pieces.
I have seen children sit and build with these tiles for hours on end.
While hers is an expensive set they come in smaller sets too, starting with a 32 piece set or you can purchase additional pieces in small packages of three to twelve pieces.
